Hex socket set screws are commonly referred to as “imo-neji” or “horo-set” (hollow set) screws. They are sometimes abbreviated as “HS,” which stands for “horo-set.”
They lack a protruding head, consisting solely of a threaded body with a hexagonal socket; the tip is shaped according to the specific application.
They are primarily used for components such as pulleys, collars, and bearings, and are convenient for temporary fastening.
